SMILE has created individual studio learning spaces (6' x 8') which have a desk, a chair for virtual meetings/schoolwork and a comfy bean bag chair so they can relax and read a book or work out math problems on the white board. The walls of each space have a combination of windows and whiteboard. Each "learning space" is for an individual child and is only used by that child.
Your school will be providing the curriculum and the instruction. SMILE will provide supervision by a certified teacher and staff and a safe educational environment.
For younger students, the level of support that they will need is much higher than that of a middle school student. We are offering additional options to match the needs and interests of each child.
Registration is a base cost and additional options/resources are available and can be added. For example, the amount of assistance a first grader needs will be very different than the amount of assistance a 6th grader needs. The needs of each child are going to change with time. SMILE Camp is ready and has the resources your child needs as things change.
For those parents that want their child to be engaged and get the most out of the day as possible, SMILE can provide a wide variety of support services and educational opportunities like STEM/STEAM activities and labs, learning to design and print using 3D printers, building projects, learning to program/code, learning how to use Microsoft Office products or other software packages. Your child can learn to play chess. All you need to do is choose the number of hours per week you would like to do those activities and put any specific requests in the space at the bottom of the registration. These additional services can be changed at any time.
