Middle school math students become a better thinker, doer, and communicator. We will organize our lessons and activities around appealing and engaging problems. We will solve these problems, make observations, and generalize through discussions which will help us understand mathematical ideas.
We will add real-world context to everyday middle school math concepts. We will transform traditional math problems into relatable problems that will make them easier to understand and solve. We will combine conceptual understanding, math fluency and application so students can build a long lasting mathematical mastery.
Some of the topics we will explore will include: factors, multiples, statistics, two and three dimensional geometry, rational numbers, two dimensional measurement, probability, and spacial visualization.
Best for Middle School.
