Are you a high school student looking a majoring in a STEM field in college?

Welcome to Taste of Engineering, our exciting STEM summer camp designed to give campers a hands-on introduction to the diverse world of engineering! Over the years I have had so many students get to college only to discover that the classes and jobs post graduation just aren't what was expected. And it's time to change major. Taste of Engineering is ours solution to this ever present recurring problem.

Are you thinking about becoming an engineer but not sure which field to pursue? Our camp is the perfect opportunity to explore different fields of engineering and discover which one is right for you.

Each week we will explore a different field.

We will spend time touring local engineering departments and then come back to camp and do hands on labs in that field. We will talking to faculty, undergrad and grad students, and touring research labs. The goal is to get as broad a perspective as possible in a given slice of that engineering field. We will talk to the undergrad advisor about curriculum classes and what it takes to get admitted.

Through a series of engaging activities and projects, we will apply the engineering design process to multiple fields of engineering, including computer, mechanical, aerospace, and materials (and many more!). We will exploring the unique challenges and opportunities of each engineering field.

At the end of the camp, campers will have gained practical skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication, as well as a better understanding of the diverse world of engineering. They will have the tools they need to make an informed decision about which field of engineering to pursue in the future.

Program Hours 8:30 am - 4:30 pm M-F

Drop-off is from 8:00 - 8:30 am and pickup is from 4:30 - 5:00 pm

We can provide early care before 8:00 am and late pickup between 5:00 - 6:00 pm for an extra fee.
