Need-Based:

If you are in need of assistance paying for camp, need based scholarships are handled on a case by case basis.  Please email info@smilecamp.org

Academic:

The Joe Bridger Creativity Scholarship is awarded to those campers that display a high level of creativity, a love of learning and that have "that spark." Joe comes to summer camp on Fridays throughout the summer looking for students that have that spark. We are very grateful to Joe for the opportunities that he creates for these students. In 2021, Joe was awarded the Zenith Medal by the NCSU College of Sciences for his dedication and support for College of Sciences programs. Joe's mentorship and support of SMILE and these campers over the last decade and more is so greatly appreciated. 

 

Memorial:

We have two memorial scholarship funds in memory of former campers and staff members that we have lost. Both were bright beacons in our world and without them our world will never be as full. Each of these scholarships is purpose-driven after each of their unique personalities. Their brilliance made our world so much more beautiful and bright. Their loss highlights the enduring need for mental health support from family, friends, co-workers, strangers, and professionals. 

Laura Blau Memorial Scholarship - to be awarded to a young girl with an insatiable love of science and infinite curiosity - funded by family, friends, co-workers, and the SMILE family. 

Travis (TJ) Ramsey Memorial Scholarship - a science and music focused scholarship - funded by family, friends, and the SMILE family.

Donations:

It takes a lot of resources to give students the opportunity to experience hands-on science. If you would also like to offer your own scholarships email us at info@smilecamp.org We are working on an Amazon wish list where you can purchase common materials we use at camp on a daily basis to make a one time purchase or recurring purchase of materials and supplies for camps.
