Build Your Own Computer camp approaches computer building from two perspectives. First, campers learn and build computers using the traditional means, learning the purpose of each part, choosing components, and assembling a PC themselves with our guidance. Second, campers will learn past the assembly, exploring how each of these components is designed and made. Campers will learn how to construct the fundamental logic circuits that our modern computers rely upon, conducting labs with breadboards, circuitry, and more. By the end of the week, not only will campers know how to spec a new computer for their needs, but they will also understand and know how to build the components like an engineer.
Note: If you are registering and ordering a computer to take home, you must register AT LEAST two weeks before the start date of the camp, as we need to be able to order parts in time for your camper's take-home computer. Regular camp registration without a computer to take home is still available until the first day of the camp.
