This camp is great for students interested in flight, mechanics, and motion! In this camp, students will learn the how to build their own propeller drone. The week will start by covering the basics of flight and lift, with campers learning about how airplanes, commercial drones, and more work. Campers will use this knowledge, combined with lessons on each of the mechanics of a drone to build their very own quadcopter from scratch. Through rounds of test flying, students will trouble shoot and alter the motors and circuitry of their drone to make it even stronger. Students will come away with a grasp on the fundamentals of robotics and electronics, an understanding of the math and engineering of motion, and their very own propeller-based drone to take home. Campers will spend time flying quadcopters outdoors, and may make a trip to The Big Field at Dix Park for even more fun!
