Best of SMILE II builds on our Best of SMILE I program, providing another week-long set of our most popular, hands-on labs. While it is not required to take Best of SMILE I to take Best of SMILE II, the camps pair nicely together. Representing each part of our acronym: Science and Math Interactive Learning Experience, Best of SMILE II lets campers learn by doing.
Best of SMILE II incorporates an even broader and more intensive range of labs, including chemistry, physics, biology, and even computer design. Campers will participate in 4 different labs each day, with each lab accompanied by a project or reaction for the campers to lead. Exploring liquid nitrogen, petri dishes, clock reactions, storm glasses, edible spherification, calorimetry, liquid crystals, an introduction to 3D printing, and so much more, campers will grow their love for science beyond what's available for them in a regular school setting.
The goal is to expose these students to what happens beyond the classroom, encouraging them not only to have greater interest in the curriculum that they receive at school but to go above and beyond. With fun, highly interactive experiments, we open up each camper’s mind to exciting college-level and real-world applications of science, math, technology, and engineering that they do not see elsewhere.
Throughout the week, campers have an opportunity to meet and develop friendships with students and mentors like themselves. Campers will be creating, designing, building, growing, and bringing home what they create.
Program Hours 8:30am-4:30pm M-F
Drop-off is from 8:00-8:30am and pickup is from 4:30-5:00pm
We can provide early care before 8:00am and late pickup between 5:00-6:00pm for an extra fee.
