Our Engines camp takes an extremely hands-on approach, giving campers a complete understanding of how engines work from the theoretical to the practical. We teach campers the thermodynamics, physics, and chemical reactions of engines through taking apart and reconstructing engines. By the end of the week, the campers will learn how sterling engines, single cylinder 2-stroke engine, a single cylinder 4-stroke engine, an in-line 6 cylinder engine from a Jeep, and even a BMW V-12 engine work inside and out. Campers will even get to pop the hood of a car, learning how engines interface directly with a car's transmission.
In addition to these practical aspects, campers will also explore the history and evolution of engines, discovering how they have become more efficient over time and how current designs can be improved for the future. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to work with engines like a true engineer and leave with a deep understanding of how they work!
