Set up similarly to our Best of SMILE programs, Best of Biology provides a fast-paced, highly hands-on week filled with our most popular biology labs. Tailored for students fascinated with biology and the life sciences, Best of Biology offers an unmatched opportunity for students to explore the big picture and microscopic parts of organisms.
Campers will participate in 4 different labs each day, covering genetics, ecology, neuroscience, microbiology, and many other areas of biology. From culturing bacteria, to extracting DNA, to blood typing, learning about osmosis and diffusion, exploring how our brains work, examining microbes, and learning about gene sequences and heredity, we will explore the breadth of the world of biology!
The goal is to expose these students to what happens beyond the classroom, encouraging them not only to have greater interest in the curriculum that they receive at school but to go above and beyond. With fun, highly interactive experiments, we open up each camper’s mind to exciting college-level and real-world applications of biology that they do not see elsewhere.
Throughout the week, campers have an opportunity to meet and develop friendships with students and mentors like themselves. Campers will be creating, designing, building, growing, and bringing home what they create.
Program Hours 8:30am-4:30pm M-F
Drop-off is from 8:00-8:30am and pickup is from 4:30-5:00pm
We can provide early care before 8:00am and late pickup between 5:00-6:00pm for an extra fee.
