Long Description:
"A myth is not something that never happened. A myth is something that happens over and over again." — Michael Meade
This 10-week hybrid class brings the legends of Greece to life! Each session begins around the table with a story discussion: we’ll explore the characters, their motives, and the deeper meaning of each myth. Students will examine artwork, videos, and readings (sometimes assigned outside of class) to enrich their understanding. Then, we’ll move to the computer, where students step into the role of the hero and reenact these epic stories in Minecraft™ survival and creative mode.
Students will sail across the Aegean Sea, explore uncharted islands, and complete legendary challenges to prove their worth to the gods. Along the way, they’ll build iconic structures, hunt for hidden treasures, face the teacher in boss battles, and compete in player vs. player challenges — all while practicing problem-solving, creative thinking, and teamwork.

Adventures That Await You:

  • Hephaestus’ Workshop
  • Apollo and Artemis Adventures
  • Defend the City of Troy
  • Daedalus’ Labyrinth and the Minotaur
  • Odysseus’ Bow Contest
  • Nereus’ Ocean Labyrinth
  • Theseus vs. the Amazons
  • Hercules’ Trials
  • Explore Mount Olympus
  • Perseus vs. Medusa
By the end of the class, students will have not only explored the exciting world of Greek mythology but also experienced it firsthand — becoming heroes, strategists, and creators in a fully interactive Minecraft™ adventure.

“My 13 yo daughter loved this class. Very interactive & educational. I could hear her laughing and chatting throughout the class. What a great way to learn while playing a game she loves.”
